The meconium fir is a perennial plant reaching a height of 40 to 50 centimeters. The flowering period is usually from May to July. Intensely pink flowers, rarely white semi-double or full, are gathered in loose paniculate inflorescences. It is an excellent plant for growing on perennial beds, for rock gardens and, of course, as a cut flower.
