Hosta ‘Blue Mouse Ears‘ is an interesting dwarf cultivar of the popular garden hosta. It reaches only 20-25 cm in height and up to 30 cm in width. This makes it ideal not only for growing in the garden, but also in containers and pots on the terrace or balcony.
The Blue Mouse Ears variety produces characteristic, mouse-shaped, corrugated and slightly concave leaves. Initially, they are bluish in color, but as they grow, they turn green. In July, quite large, bell-shaped lavender flowers appear above the clump of fleshy leaves. Due to the fact that the bluish color of the leaves lasts for a short time, this variety tolerates positions with higher sun exposure much better than, for example, ‘Canadian Blue’.
