Tomato Bohun (dwarf, open-field variety) is a very early cultivar. It is a determinate plant with a fairly compact habit. It produces large fruits (120–140 g), slightly flattened, slightly ribbed, coreless, fleshy, crack-resistant, and quite firm.
This variety is often chosen for its resistance to late blight. The growing season is 55–60 days. For successful cultivation, tomatoes should be grown in a sunny, warm location sheltered from the wind. Soil quality is also important – it should be sandy-loamy with high humus content. Tomatoes have considerable water requirements, especially during the fruiting period.
Sowing
Seeds should be sown in March–April for seedlings. Transplant them to their final location in mid-May, once the risk of frost has passed.
Cultivation requirements
For best results, choose a sunny and warm location. The soil should be fertile, well-drained, sandy-loamy, and capable of retaining moisture.
