Genovese Basil – Green
Genovese basil is a classic and highly aromatic variety that has been popular among chefs and herb lovers for many years. It is known for its intense, fresh fragrance and is an essential ingredient in Mediterranean cuisine. It pairs perfectly with tomatoes, garlic, and olive oil, making it ideal for preparing pesto, sauces, soups, casseroles, and pizza. Sowing:
Seeds are best sown from March to May in pots or seed trays indoors or in a greenhouse. Basil prefers a warm, sunny position and fertile, well-drained soil. Sow seeds shallowly and lightly cover them with soil.
Harvest:
Leaves can be harvested from June to September. Regular trimming encourages the plant to grow more leaves.
