🥒 Variety Description
‘Monika’ is a high-yielding, parthenocarpic (self-fruitful) cucumber variety, producing fruits without the need for pollination. It is an early variety, recommended for accelerated field cultivation and for growing under plastic covers or tunnels.
Plants are vigorous and strong-growing, producing only female flowers, which ensures abundant fruit set. The fruits are uniform, well-shaped, short (10–12 cm), with no neck, and have an intensely green color with visible lighter stripes and a rough surface. Even when harvested later, the fruits do not turn yellow.
This is primarily a salad-type cucumber, but it is also excellent for light pickling (known as ogórek małosolny in Polish).
