Lovage garden

Perennial plant. The spices are the leaves, rhizomes and roots. The leaves are added to soups, sauces, salads, stews and meat dishes. Mainly the root and rhizome are used. A decoction of the root stimulates digestion, has expectorant, choleretic, carminative and diuretic properties.

Garden lovage requires a warm, sunny position, permeable, warm soil, rich in calcium.
