Thyme (Thymus vulgaris) is a perennial plant.
Fresh or dried herb is used as a seasoning for soups, meats, game, cold cuts, as well as cheeses and potatoes.
It releases its aroma during cooking, so it can be added at the very beginning.
It has a slightly spicy flavour and strongly enhances dishes, especially Mediterranean cuisine.
