A true delicacy originally from the Venice area. Externally similar to other beetroot varieties, but when cut open, it reveals a striking red-and-white spiral pattern. Suitable for eating fresh (lightly seasoned) — retaining its beautiful pattern — or cooked, when it turns pinkish-red. Sow from mid-April directly into the ground at a depth of 2–3 cm.
